BLACK AIDS AWARENESS DAY!

My favorite girl Cassandra Ventura aka Cassie was with her two grandmothers at the 2008 Black AIDS Day Tribute yesterday in NYC. Looking soo cute as usual! It's good to see celebrities and such stepping up to fight HIV & AIDS. The black community has an overwhelming rate of new HIV infections.. So wrap it up folks.

Rihanna promoted her new line of umbrellas at Macy’s in New York City’s Herald Square today. Can't complain.. the girl is a suave business woman, not to mention FIERCE! Either love her or hate her.. but she is hot.

Teyana Taylor?

Ms StarTrek : You might remember her from MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16.” She has been recently signed to Pharrell’s Star Trak label and will release her debut album called A Planet Called Harlem later this year. Her first official single is called “Google Me” and was produced by Jazze Pha. The track is average but if the media machine decides to promote it heavy and smash it into my head.. I guess I could grow to like it. She seems like a nice girl & I hope her success but after meeting her before her "fame" I can't say I'm a fan. Love the swag tho!

Word on the digital street is that Kimora Lee, founder of Baby Phat & her new beau Djimon have gotten engaged.





Looks like an engagement ring because I doubt she still wears her wedding ring. I personally haven't noticed it in any of her Style network episodes on "Life in the Fab Lane." If she did... I am soo happy for her! She seems to be beaming in all her pics and he looks great with the kids... not to mention a hottie.

The Black Wall Street.

I found this enlightening story with some black history I never knew. A lot of people know about The Rosewood Massacre, but you probably ain't know the story about The Black Wall Street...

During the oil boom of the 1910s, in the area of northeast Oklahoma flourished -— including the Greenwood neighborhood, which came to be known as “the Negro Wall Street” (now commonly referred to as “the Black Wall Street”). The area was home to several prominent black businessmen and families, many of them multimillionaires.


Due to the success of the Greenwood district, many whites in the Tulsa area became resentful and on June 1, 1921, after a series of race riots, “Black Wall Street” was bombed and burned to the ground.

In a period spanning fewer than 12 hours, a once thriving black business district lay in ruins. Among these were 21 churches, 21 restaurants, 30 grocery stores and two movie theaters, plus a hospital, a bank, a post office, libraries, schools, law offices, a half-dozen private airplanes and even a bus system. As many as 3,000 people were killed, and the property damage totaled $1.5 million. Despite the devastation, the community mobilized its resources and rebuilt the Greenwood area within the next five years, but the town never fully recovered.

So it's looks like pigs f-ing fly! Congrads to superbowl winners New York GIANTS. The game was awesome and I don't even watch sports. If you missed it... YOU SUCK!! JK. Anyone in the NYC area going to the parade?

In one of football's biggest shockers, New York shattered New England's unbeaten season as Manning hit Plaxico Burress on a 13-yard fade with 35 seconds left in the Super Bowl.

Sunday's 17-14 win was the Giants' 11th straight on the road, and the first time the Patriots tasted defeat in more than a year.

This is the first I've seen of his kids. They look very attractive. Now I know ya'll all saying "DA HELL! That ain't his kids" and I'm a tad bit doubtful too. But I'm biased, I love MJ and personally think that his daughter Paris looks like her mother Debbie Rowe and his son Prince Michael resembles him. Yes, they are pretty white but that happens sometimes... he may not have very strong genes. Regardless, must be nice to have Michael Jackson as your father. Can't wait for the comeback album!!!

Today marks the start of Black History Month. It is also Heart Awareness Day...
This month should be a time to reflect on the progress we have made as African Americans and the progress we continue to make. We should also think about our health and our loved ones. I wish everyone a great month of feburary!

New video from Lil Mama & Chris Brown also starring T Pain.. Shawty Get Loose. I must admit the vid is pretty hot! Lil Mama seems heart-set on not being a one hit wonder.. and I'm on her campaign. Seems like Jive is stepping it up & with Nappy Boy and Pretty Boy what could go wrong?
